5,000 Egyptian Mosques to Host Quranic Programs for Kids

IQNA – Egypt’s Awqaf ministry plans to launch Quranic programs for children in mosques.

Awqaf Minister Mohammed Mukhtar Gomaa said 5,000 mosques across the country will host the Quranic events.

Dubbed “Protect Your Child with Quran”, the programs are aimed at teaching the Quran to elementary and guidance school students.

The will be organized in the holidays between the two semesters of the school year, he said, Youm7 website reported.

Gomaa noted highlighted the ministry’s other Quranic activities, saying it has also launched Khatm Quran (reading the Holy Book from beginning to end) programs as well as an initiative for correcting people’s Quran reading.  

Dubbed “Correct Your Recitation”, the initiative is held in a number of major mosques in different cities.
